Then they said you can't compete across state lines. This is the standard socialist two-step. Regulate something, break it with further taxes, then take over declaring that the free market failed.Chris Larimerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01770607122746467750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30216641.post-57547771825153959682009-08-20T12:58:57.328-04:002009-08-20T12:58:57.328-04:00The question about the hip replacement and termina...The question about the hip replacement and terminal cancer diagnosis is, I imagine valid. The problem comes in with who exactly gets to decide? Is it the patient, or is it politicians? Is it insurance companies? Or bureaucrats?

Since insurance companies are for profit enterprises, they will certainly make decisions that minimize patient care if they can.

Having had bad experiences with insurance companies, I'm disinclined to think that is a good answer.

Yet I know government / bureaucrat, one size fits all but those deemed important enough to receive superior care approach will be worse.

Personally, I would argue something needs to be done about our healthcare situation. I'm just rather concerned that we're intent on 'barking up the wrong tree'. Anything that increases government power at the expense of individual rights and choices is not a positive development. Let alone the inefficiencies that are inherent in bureaucratic systems.will spottshttp://wspotts.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
