Just in case you had any doubt as to what the Confession of 1967 ultimately meant to do (i.e., undermine the Westminster Confession of Faith), here's all the proof you need. It seems that reconciliation largely consists of throwing venomous barbs at those whose form of evangelism is actually working.
There is an overture to the 2008 General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA) to no longer recognize the Evangelical Presbyterian Church as a Reformed denomination. Frankly, coming from an institution that could best be described as "reformerly" - dear friends in the EPC - I'd take that as a complement.

It may make it more difficult for churches seeking dismissal from the PC(USA) - but strictly from the EPC's point of view - they may be better off having no relationship with the PC(USA).
This is all so sad. It is like watching a beloved Grandparent go senile and start spending their money on looney things.
In a recent conversation someone noted that the EPC and the PCUSA are both in the WARC - to which a elder then asked - well then maybe something is wrong with the epc.

Your turn of phrase is quite a gift. I found myself laughing... and then, just went back to being sad.
Specializing in Schadenfreude since GA of 2006!
Overture failed letter sent.
A substitute motion replaced the overture with a letter to the GAC (I think) that asks them to ask the EPC to stop.
Stop what? Ansering the phone?
Maybe the NAPARC and the EPC churches should get together and pull an all out offensive against the PC (USA).
Ben,
The true Church of Christ wars against the gates of Hell, storming it at every opportunity. (So I guess they already are!)
Personally, I'd rather see the Reformed Christians start acting like big brothers (and sisters) to the whiny little 25 yr old that is the PCUSA. Hold prayer vigils and fasting events, praying that God would send revival on the PCUSA. That's war, brother! And it has a much better chance of working than going and trying to "sheep-steal."
Of course, you and I already fall into that 'potential undershepherd steal' rack!
Well of course that is what I meant by "Offensive" Chris.
Honestly ;)
