Unfortunately, this is what most of the sidelined legacy denominations do every (other) summer.

So...like...does anybody want to, you know, talk about it?

A sidelined denomination is one that in prior days held great prominence in American religious discourse, but has lost her standing - normally by trying to be more relevant than faithful to revelation. They came out of the recovery of the Gospel in the Protestant Reformation. Thus, they have a legacy. Here's one, and another, and another.

You can recognize a sidelined denomination because it's leadership (including ministers) cross their fingers when they say the Apostle's Creed, they regularly wink at (or endorse) sin, and they are normally hemorrhaging members.; Tue Jun 24, 01:25:00 PM EDT

We've sold our birthright (which was largely given by the values of Christendom) for the pottage of victocratic security. We're going to reap the whirlwind because those who wish to enforce dhimmitude on us:
a) know what they believe and often why they believe it;
b) know how to exploit our weaknesses
1) victim-guilt
2) selfish-softness
