Spare Change

Everybody is talking about Change these days.

Especially reverent tones regarding change are used when speaking of The One.

Well... at least this lady can count on some change.

Why? Because it turns out that Barack Hussein Obama only pays the ladies pennies on the dollar. That's right...

Barack Obama pays his women campaign staff less than he pays the men on his campaign staff.

Doing some research on this, it was pointed out that this statement was based on an average of all female salaries, vs an average of all male salaries.

According to what I was able to glean, there are less females on staff (something like 24 females to 36 males), and not based on a one-to-one comparison of people doing the same work.

While there are a lot of things to disparage that campaign for, this is one that has a very shaky basis in fact.

Agreed...but since the substance of the campaign so far has been empty rhetoric, I thought it a fair jab.

"So it's entirely possible that Senator Obama is a sexist, misogynistic creep who gleefully rubs his hands together and laughs demonically while scheming to persecute his female employees. Maybe he has nothing better to do. But far more likely is that the aforementioned factors explain his office's inter-sex pay differential. Perhaps his male employees work more hours, have been more likely to accept promotions involving greater responsibility, have more experience, sacrificed "personal fulfillment" and instead chose more lucrative fields, and/or have greater seniority. Whatever the reasons, I'm quite sure of one thing: The phenomenon is attributable to natural, market-based factors and not a conscious desire to disenfranchise women."

Fair jab? I'd say feeble jab. I mean, the article you cite in the link contradicts your apparent point. Come on, Chris. Are you getting lazy in your righteous war on the greenie-weenies?

Don't you know we can smell weakness?
